Welcome to the Guyra State Emergency Service!
The Guyra Unit of the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is a group of volunteers who provide immediate assistance to our local community during emergencies. The major roles of SES are responding to floods and storms, however we also provide support to other emergency services such as the Rural Fire Service, Police, and VRA, and assist other community-based organisations to run their own events. Gurya SES unit, in conjunction with the Tingha SES unit, assist in emergencies occurring in the Guyra Shire which extends from Ebor in the east , to Copeton Dam near Inverell in the west. Also the Guyra SES Unit has regularly reponded to requests for assistance outside our local area, such as the Sydney bushfires in early 2002 During
the last twelve months, members from the Guyra SES Unit have contributed
over 6100 man-hours of their time to SES activities. |
